Vintage Ribbed Amber Glass Orange Crush Soda Bottle
c. 1940s-1950s; Orange Crush Company - Chicago, IL
Embossed amber glass soda bottle featuring the distinctive ribbed "krinkly" pattern patented by the Orange Crush Company. Retains its original diamond-shaped orange enamel label reading "Orange-Crush Soda - Carbonated Water, Sugar, Flavoring, Citric Acid, 1/10 of 1% Benzoate Soda - 7 FL. OZS." The design embodies midcentury beverage packaging, where ribbed amber glass served both functional and aesthetic purposes-protecting the citrus flavor from light while reinforcing brand recognition.
The Orange Crush Company introduced this embossed ribbed bottle style in the late 1920s, refining it through the 1940s for nationwide distribution. The amber variant is less common than the later clear glass versions, prized today by collectors for its color, typography, and period graphics.
Excellent condition with clean glass, bright label color, and minor surface wear consistent with age.
